“OUT OF THE CLEARING SMOKE OF A GREAT WAR
FREEDOM WAS BORN…
BUT NOT FOR EVERYONE.”
Imagine a teen-aged Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X living in the time of the American Revolution. Now imagine them with super powers!
What would their story be? What choices would they make? How would they face slavery, war and the birth of a nation?
These are just a few of the questions we asked ourselves when we set out to write THE SONS OF LIBERTY graphic novel series. Never could we have imagined the journey it would take us on-- uncovering unique people and amazing events lost to history.
We hope the reader will love the adventures of Graham and Brody as much as we do and take from it a better understanding of what it means to be free.
THE SONS OF LIBERTY was created and written by the Lagos Brothers, Alexander and Joseph. Books One and Two were originally published by Random House and are two time Junior Library Guild Selections, IRA Children's Choice, and a YALSA (Young Adult Library Services) nominee for best graphic novel for teens.
Books 1 and 2 were penciled and inked by artist Steve Walker, with colors by Oren Kramek and Letters by Chris Dickey.
Book 3 was penciled and inked by new artist Sami Kivelä, with colors by Oren Kramek and Letters by Wilson Ramos Jr.
**THE SONS OF LIBERTY is not a series for educational purposes, although it may inspire readers to learn more about the true history, it is first and foremost an entertaining superhero adventure.
We hope you enjoy it!
